May 1, 2004 — DC Systems is pleased to announce the successful installation and startup of the first PG&E MPAC substation. MPAC stands for Modular Protection, data Acquisition, and Control building. This factory assembled and tested control building maybe installed in existing or new substations with a considerable savings over onsite construction and testing. Each MPAC building contains two RTscada systems, one for substation control and monitoring, and the other for providing an interface to the PG&E corporate users. The MPAC concept and design will be used to modernize many of P&&E’s existing substations.
